CH2T Covets: Holiday Edition

I’m excited this year to finally be doing a Holiday Edition of CH2T Covets! Since I know outfits don’t just throw themselves together, I’ve listed some tips below to help guide some of your style and gifting choices for the holiday season upon us.

I’ve also featured my most recent addition to the CH2T accessories family – an uber cool JORD wood watch that I’ve paired with a Thanksgiving, Holiday party, and Christmas look. And you’re in luck my friends because I’ve partnered with JORD to offer y’all a Holiday Giveaway. Every person who enters will be instantly emailed a $25 e-gift code to use on their site! So check it out, and don’t be tardy for the party 😉

Mural Support: Adam Lippes x Target

On Sunday, I coerced the hubs into a City Target run so that I could check out the new Adam Lippes for Target collection. Naturally I’d done my research and already had my eye out for a few key pieces. I halfway expected the store to be ransacked (see Lilly Pulitzer debacle), but apparently plaid doesn’t give off the same drug-induced psychosis as floral-prints-on-crack do. Lucky for me, there was still a healthy selection and I managed to snag the last size mediums in the two garments I wanted most. Lucky for you, there’s also quite a bit still available online – unless of course you’re feeling up to a dumpster dive (as my loving husband so calls it). See my favorite look styled below for some shopping inspo – understanding husband and two year old not included…

Cammeo Head to Toe Turns One!

A year ago this April marked the one year anniversary of my other, slightly less demanding and not nearly as cute baby – my blog. Oddly enough, it took having a baby to get the courage to launch my own blog, as if I needed one more thing to tackle. I had just returned to work full-time, was still nursing a 6 month old baby through the night, and figured – “Hey, I’m up at 1am anyway, might as well write.” As crazy as it sounds, looking back at this year, I am so glad I did it. Becoming a mom truly does change the whole life game – it’s as if everything before now was just rehearsal for my “real life” to start. Everything I thought I knew about myself and what I wanted for my future, was turned upside down and inside out. Starting this blog awakened my true love for writing, something I always had a passion for growing up and somehow had pushed aside along the way. It also has given me a creative outlet I so desperately needed, not only to pursue my personal styling, but it served as a way for me to express myself in ways that are so crucial when deciphering your life as a new mom.

Adventures in Shopping: Form of Flattery

Everyone’s heard the saying “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” I for one, have played that over and over again in my head ever since I was a young girl first exploring my sense of style – wondering how guilty I should feel going and buying that shirt or shoes that I spotted on a (seemingly much cooler) girl at school.

Fast forward 20 years, and I still do it today. The difference is, with the widespread popularity of style bloggers and fashion-centric social media sites (I’m looking at you, Pinterest), it’s far more socially acceptable. In fact, it’s customary and down-right necessary to turn to those whose style you admire as a way to even make it out of your closet in the morning. So alas my friends, I have learned to embrace the notion of imitation as a form of flattery, and I am here to tell you – it’s ok, don’t beat yourself up. We all do it.

Escada to Nada

Last night I attended an event to preview the Resort 2013 collection at the Escada store in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel off Rodeo Dr. As we pulled up to the elaborate back entrance to valet, and walked through the lobby to the Escada store – I definitely had a Pretty Woman moment, minus the snubs.

Not only was the Escada team lovely, but the space and decor were equally as beautiful – literally everyone walking through the store proclaimed how it seemed to just go on and on. I personally loved how the different collections were displayed, which made it all too enticing to want to buy everything in sight. But reality set in and I quickly remembered I didn’t have Richard Gere waiting in the wings, and my credit cards – they have a limit…

Fashion’s Night Out a la Santa Monica

Last year was my first time to experience Fashion’s Night Out, and I dragged my more than willing husband (yah, he’s that good) to the Beverly Center where we braved the onslaught of folks trying to get a glimpse of some fall fashion (and a celeb or two). It was well worth it just for the sales alone – where and when else can you get a $20 pair of cork wedges!

This year, since I already knew what to expect at the Beverly Center (and I’d just hit up their labor day sales the weekend before), I was up for something new this time around. Lucky for me, Santa Monica Place partnered with Los Angeles magazine for FNO, complete with a fashion show hosted by none other than Fashion Editor Linda Immediato – check out her Haute List blog for some entertaining Fashion Editor Problems from FNO.
