I often get asked by friends what other shoes, or accessories they can pair with an outfit for a different look – my typical advice is to try some cork wedges in place of heels or a military jacket to keep it casual and bring out earth tones in a pattern.
Well, I decided to take my own advice and chose this great new light weight sweater I just bought from H&M, and my spring staple red jeans to create three different looks. Of course, could you blame a girl for channeling a little inspiration from a reproduction of a 1965 Shelby Cobra – the car Grant built with his dad…style comes in many forms my friend.
Sweater: H&M. Jeans: American Eagle. Sandals: Halogen Vivian Sandal.
My first foray into mixing stripes and animal prints turned out to be surprisingly less painful than I thought. I love the way the leopard print adds a whole other level of chic to this outfit, and turned out to be perfectly workday worthy. These Jeffrey Campbell’s are a gem that I found at the LF store in SoHo a few years back during their 60% off once a year sale – truth be told that’s the only time I can shop there and still leave with a clear conscience…

These last few pictures were just for fun, but goes to show that a few key pieces can transform a look from dressy to laid back in minutes. I was on the hunt for a jean jacket, and after strolling the Camarillo Outlets for a solid day – I ended up coming back and finding one 5 min. down the road at the Beverly Connection. This one’s the perfect shade and fitted, so it actually looks flattering rather than boxy.
