This school year was kinda like the perfect storm. At the same time Garrett was starting Kindergarten, we decided to start Charlotte in preschool 3 days a week as well. My poor mama heart and mind didn’t know what to think. On one hand I was so excited and proud of both my babies, but on the other hand I just couldn’t wrap my head around how the heck they’ve grown up so fast. Not to mention, on top of managing my blog, I was given more responsibility at my freelance digital agency gig. So needless to say, we all had a pretty loud wake-up call which made me realize it was finally time to kick our morning routine into high gear. I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t always the best at eating breakfast every morning – until I met Grant. Skipping breakfast for him is like a sin, and he’s always made sure we all start our morning off right with a good breakfast. So when I told him about the new Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit Roll-Ups from HEB – he was all about it. But what surprised me even more, was how excited our son Garrett was to try them. He literally is the hardest kid to get to eat breakfast – partly cuz he’s still in half asleep “zombie mode,” and partly cuz breakfast just doesn’t do much for him. But I kid you not, I put those two Jimmy Dean Biscuit Roll-Ups on his plate – I turned around to make his lunch and by the time I turned back around he had eaten one and was begging me if he could eat the other one! My jaw about dropped to the floor, but I played it cool and did a little “mom win” happy dance in my mind ? Even little Cha Cha got in on the action and kept saying how “nummy” it was ?
Now that I have breakfast in the bag – it’s all smooth sailing from there. In case you’re curious how we all tackle the rest of our morning – here’s a quick run down of our morning routine:
The Murray Morning Routine
-
Morning pile-on in bed aka tiny human alarm clock
-

-
Breakfast of Champions aka Jimmy Dean Biscuit Roll-Ups
- Fast/quick, easy to-go breakfast
- A good option for busy parents and kiddos
- Ready in less than a minute

I hope these tips help if you’re like us and were desperate to get a good morning routine down. I also recommend stopping by your local HEB aka “The Grown Up’s Favorite Place in the World,” to pick up a box (or two, or three) of Jimmy Dean Biscuit Roll-Ups ? Or if you’re smart like every other mom I know – just add them to that online cart and roll up to curbside pick-up like a boss ?
Happy School Year!
