Can we talk about bangs for a second? I’ve had ’em. You’ve had ’em. We’ve all had ’em. Unless you’re like some, who swore off of ’em after the “permed bangs epidemic” of the ’90s. Even still, we’re drawn to ’em. Heck, there was nothing more I wanted than bangs as a kid but my dad had a strict “no bangs” rule, and funny enough, so does Grant (Sorry Cha Cha).
When I got older I was bold enough to do the bangs “cut & grow tango” twice, and even taught myself how to trim them at home (not recommended or else you may end up with “baby bangs” and that trend is just a hard NO from me). My mom has had bangs literally my whole life so when she dropped the bomb that she was growing them out, I about choked on my mom coffee (it’s just like regular coffee, but 20 degrees colder).
Y’all I didn’t think she had it in her cuz growing your bangs out, especially for someone who’s always had them, is not for the faint at heart. But she’s stuck with it and I’ve never been more proud of her accomplishment ?? Naturally it didn’t come without the usual frustration of not knowing what the heck to do to keep them outta your face. So for Christmas I bought her a few sets of these cute barrettes I’d found, and she loved them. She wasn’t sure how to wear them, so I decided to do a little hair tutorial showing how I style barrettes different ways that can be worn by someone of any age. I’ve also linked to some of my favorite ones below that I’ve come across from Express (where mine & my mom’s are from), Target, Francesca’s and H&M.
