This post is sponsored by Woodhouse Day Spa – Baybrook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We’ve all heard of “manscaping,” aka what your husband does to his hairy back, and I’m not going there. I do, however, want to talk about a serious topic called the “Momscape.” No, I’m not talking about the fact that you probably haven’t shaved since the start of quarantine, I’m talking about an actual, physical escape. One that I think no mom on earth would refuse right now. This week marks exactly 4 months (but hey, who’s counting) of being on 24/7 mom mode, and I’m exhausted y’all. So when The Woodhouse Day Spa, that just opened in the Baybrook Mall outdoor area (across from Kendra Scott), reached out to me for a hosted spa day – I may have jumped outta my chair 🙂
Read on for more details on my stay there, and the amazing services they offer. Plus, you can join their mailing list to be invited to their VIP grand opening event.

My Visit to The Woodhouse Day Spa
In a recent press release following the spa opening, Evelyn Baldwin, owner of The Woodhouse Day Spa –Baybrook, was quoted as saying “The Woodhouse Day Spa is a place where people don’t have to rush in, get their service and leave–it’s a place where they can come in, relax and really feel like they have a place that’s just theirs to enjoy.” I could not have put it better myself. That’s exactly how I felt – relaxed and as if I had the whole place to myself. It’s also the main reason I left convinced that their day spa is so worth visiting because it’s the whole experience of it that makes you feel so refreshed.
Before my visit, they recommended their Woodhouse Signature Services, Lazy Days Renewal Ritual, or any services that include the Vichy Shower such as the Blissful Night sleep treatment. Since I’m more of a traditionalist myself, I decided to go with their Spa Classics package. This service is basically 3-in-1 and starts off with a relaxing Swedish Massage, followed by an Organic Discovery Facial, and ends with a Warm Agave Nectar Pedicure. To say I was in utter heaven, is an understatement. I rarely get the right amount of pressure in a massage, but this one was perfect and she really focused on the areas like my neck where I mentioned I carry most of my stress. She also very kindly and wisely talked to me about how, as mothers we often lose connection with our bodies which is why massage is so wonderful to help regain that connection.
Back in my heyday (pre-kids), I visited some of the nicest spas in NYC & LA (Bliss, Burke Williams, Peninsula Beverly Hills, etc.), and The Woodhouse Day Spa is hands down the best overall experience I’ve ever had. That’s because it starts with their staff, who are both incredibly friendly and also the most professional I’ve encountered. They shared their knowledge when I inquired about certain procedures during my facial/massage, and were just so incredibly personable, which made you feel like they truly cared. I recommend asking for Carolyn (massage therapist), Tamara (facialist/esthetician), and Monica (Pedicure/Manicure) when you go.
If all of these reasons haven’t convinced you to book your next spa day, then just for fun I decided to round up my 7 sure signs you’re in desperate need of a “Momscape.” You know I’m right 😉
7 Sure Signs You Need a Momscape
1) You start off each day with a toddler foot in your back, followed by an emphatic “Mommyyyyyyyy, waaaaake uuuuupppppp!!!”
2) You judge whether or not it’s going to be a good day based on how much coffee, milk & chocolate syrup is left.
3) You just finished 2 days worth of laundry and your son asks you if you can do his laundry. Again.
4) You’ve already killed 3 roaches in the house and it’s not even 8:30 am yet.
5) You’ve gone through a whole box of Magic Erasers in one day.
6) Your son accidentally locked the pantry door from the inside & you have to MacGyver it to get it open.
And last but not least…
7) You’ve been your kid’s teacher, entertainer, caregiver, short-order chef, and boo-boo kisser for the past 4 months with little to no breaks, and you wake up everyday ready to do it all over again – cuz that’s what moms do.
