Escada to Nada

Last night I attended an event to preview the Resort 2013 collection at the Escada store in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel off Rodeo Dr. As we pulled up to the elaborate back entrance to valet, and walked through the lobby to the Escada store – I definitely had a Pretty Woman moment, minus the snubs.

Not only was the Escada team lovely, but the space and decor were equally as beautiful – literally everyone walking through the store proclaimed how it seemed to just go on and on. I personally loved how the different collections were displayed, which made it all too enticing to want to buy everything in sight. But reality set in and I quickly remembered I didn’t have Richard Gere waiting in the wings, and my credit cards – they have a limit…

Ok, so I did splurge a little on this Escada Sport wool blazer with leather details – but like I told my husband, at least I didn’t go full on Escada and we got a discount. Plus, they had to search the whole store for the last one in my size – and I’m not one to go against fate…

From left: Los Angeles magazine Fashion Editor Linda Immediato models an Escada black and white houndstooth pants suit, while chatting with LA based designers Calleen Cordero and Beth Orduna. I’ve known about Calleen Cordero’s beautifully hand crafted shoes for some time now, but it was a delight to finally meet her. Both ladies wore eachother’s designs – Beth, who makes one of a kind jewelry pieces, was wearing Calleen’s knee high lace-up leather boots, and Calleen wore a long strand fresh water pearl necklace.
