Tonight I braved a drive into the valley, during rush hour no less, just to get a sneak peak of Fall Fashion trends at Bloomingdale’s Sherman Oaks, and some key styling tips from Los Angeles magazine’s Style Editor Linda Immediato.
Although we were all in agreement with being so over shopping for summer, we haven’t felt quite ready to start thinking about fall. Let’s just say once the fashion show got into full swing, with enough denim, fur and leather to put anyone in the shopping mood, we were all singing a different tune.
Not to mention Bloomie’s was having their Mad About Fashion Loyallist event, lord only knows how I managed to walk away with just a Medium Brown Bag – but hey, a girl has to have some self control…
Black Drawstring Pants: H&M (Phillip Lim, ones I really want). Gray Tee: Mossimo for Target (similar here and here). Blazer: Anat B. Beverly Hills (Spring/Summer 2012 Collection). Messenger Bag: Kristen Bell for Erica Anenberg. Shoes: Halogen Vivian Sandal (not pictured). Chronograph Watch: Michael Kors. Leather Studded Bracelet: Ron Herman. Leather Wrap Bracelet: Isabel B. boutique at Hotel del Coronado (similar to Hermes version). Cocktail Ring: BCBG (my best friend has a matching one – a modern take on the bff necklaces, circa 1990).
Fashion illustration by Simone Elum. We all loved how she made our legs somehow look 10 feet long.
I spotted these Rag & Bone embroidered jeans when I first walked in, and it just so happened they styled Linda in them with a Joie silk top that went perfectly.
My boss and I ogled over some Rebecca Taylor pieces – which happens to be one of her favorite brands, and it’s getting up there in my book with this tweed, fringed blazer and pleated leather skirt.
I’ve had my eye on the brocade jeans trend ever since I saw these gold brocade ones from J Brand’s Fall line. Have to say, I was resolved to let this trend pass me by – that is until I saw these Current/Elliot black brocade jeans. After seeing them modeled, they made a true believer outta me.
See more of my fav looks from the evening – just keep in mind most styles aren’t available online yet, but I’ve listed out each article of clothing which can be found in store at Bloomingdales (so apologies for no links).
Joie blouse, Current/Elliott color block jeans, Chloe bag, and Vince Camuto shoes.
p.s. Moni’s in the background of this photo, can you find her? Hint – she’s got some killer heels on…
Helmut skirt & t shirt, Joie leather jacket, Rebecca Minkoff purse, and Dolce Vita shoes (loved them).
Rag & Bone jean, Theory leather jacket, Splendid tank, and Dolce Vita shoes (again).
DVF leather dress, Marc Jacobs purse, and Vince Camuto shoes (the models wore these with a lot of the outfits, which really shoes what a staple a great pair of black pointy-toe pumps can be).
Vince leather jacket in indigo, Vince tank, Vince jean in citron, Ted Baker purse (really loved the structure of this bag), and Vince Camuto shoes.
Vince fur vest, blouse, and jean, Leibskind bag, and Vince Camuto shoes (this ensemble might have been the crowd favorite of the night).
Theory fur vest, Vince blouse, Theory leather legging, and Vince Camuto shoes.
Joie fur vest, Vince blouse, Rag & Bone leather jean (want these in a bad way), Chloe bag (Linda’s pick of the night for best everyday/carryall bag), and Dolce Vita shoes.
Vince fur vest and blouse, Rag & Bone jean, Rebecca Minkoff clutch (love anything by her), and Vince Camuto shoes.
