CH2T Beauty: ABC13 x Five Minute Makeup Routine

So excited to share another video I filmed for ABC13’s “Mirror Mirror” with my lovely friend Rebecca Spera – who recently moved on from the network to start her own businesses, and be home more with her toddler and new baby. I can totally relate, since I made the same leap just two years ago after leaving my Digital Marketing Manager role at Los Angeles magazine. Since then, I’ve been able to focus more on growing my blog and personal styling services, while being able to spend more time raising my 4 year old and almost 1 year old (can you believe Cha Cha’s 11 months old today?!).

If there’s one thing I’ve learned since transitioning from “full-time working mom” to “part-time work-from-home mom” – it’s finding those #momlife hacks, as I like to call them. One that I’ve perfected over the years is my 5 minute makeup routine that takes no time at all, yet leaves you looking pulled together when you’re in a pinch. Watch the video below to see my 6 makeup tricks and read the story here on ABC13.

CH2T Styling: ABC13 x Closet Cleanout

You might remember I filmed Wardrobe Transition Pieces for ABC13’s Mirror Mirror segment with Rebecca Spera back in January. Well I’m so excited to share the next feature we did for Mirror Mirror called “Closet Cleanout.” If you’ve been needing a little push to finally do some wardrobe spring cleaning, my favorite type of cleaning, then this one’s for you. For this segment, I’m talking about the four types of clothing you should get rid of to thin out your closet. Since I know it can be a bit of a painful process, I’ve come up with a fun way to make things a little easier on you with my “Closet Offenders” as I like to call them. You can watch the video below and read the full story here.

CH2T Styling: ABC13 x Wardrobe Transition Pieces

Last month I had the pleasure of filming three segments for ABC13 with my friend/reporter Rebecca Spera – “Wardrobe Transition Pieces,” “Closet Cleanout,” and “Five Minute Makeup Hacks.” If you’re a local Houstonian, then you might have caught the first segment this past Wed afternoon. I modeled four different looks that are perfect for when you’re either in between sizes from just having a baby or on a weight loss journey. Either way, finding the right outfits for your changing body can seem daunting and take the fun out of shopping. So, I was asked to style versatile looks that are perfect for day or night, dressy or casual, and what must-have pieces you can pull from your wardrobe to get you through this transition.

Behind the Scenes

Earlier this week I was fortunate enough to be invited behind the scenes of a fashion shoot, by our lovely and talented (and very french, oh-la-la) neighbor Frederic of Frederic Photography.

Frederic shot several dramatic looks of actress Charity Shea, who plays “April” in the hit VH1 TV series “Single Ladies”, for FCM Magazine. I entered at the tail end of the shoot, just as they were wrapping up some vintage-style photos with our very own Cobra (see earlier post “Racing Stripes“).

I was able to catch up with the wardrobe stylist for the shoot, Reginald Michael, and got to pick his brain on what it’s like being a stylist. Ironically, he wanted to pursue design, but his teachers/colleagues at FIDM suggested he going into styling – he’s been at it for 2 years now and loving it.

Reginald was gracious enough to humor me, like a big brother does a little sister (I should know, I am one), and shared some valuable advice “I have friends in fashion or styling, some are just personal shoppers, they don’t actually do this. There are little areas you can really specialize in, so there’s a lot you can discover”…well, consider me inspired.
