10 Things I Love About You: 10 Months Old

Well, I had every intention of doing one of these posts when Charlotte turned 9 months old – but wowzas, the last month has been a doozy. Poor Cha Cha was practically sick the entire 9th month of her life – a terrible UTI that had us in and out of the Ped’s office 20 billion times, a crazy virus that had Charlotte’s fever spiking to 104 in the night, and made its rounds to each of us which was super fun. She also started to crawl which was exciting…until it wasn’t. This girl is into e-ver-y-thinggggg. I honestly don’t think I baby proofed one thing (ok, maybe the stove/oven) with Garrett, but with Charlotte – let’s just say, I “Amazon Primed” toilet lid clamps after a certain someone decided it would be fun to go splashing in the half bathroom when mommy wasn’t looking (gross).

10 Things I Love About You: 7 Months Old

It’s been seven months, y’all. Seven whole months since little Cha Cha has been on this earth. Sometimes I can’t believe how it’s already been that long, and other times I wonder how it’s only been such a short time that we’ve known each other – since it’s as if she’s always been a part of me. Maybe that’s what these little miracles are – just pieces of us waiting to be born and make us whole again.

Because it’s clearly got me feeling all kinds of sap, and cuz I can’t believe how much she’s changed just in the past couple of months – I figured it was high time for another installment of “Ten Things I Love About You.”

Space Themed Toddler Room Reveal x Seedling Littles

When my husband and I met, he was still working at NASA (he literally used to train astronauts at NASA’s NBL – soooo he’s kinda a big deal, but he’d never tell you that ;), and I never dreamt we’d have the chance to pass on his love of space to our son someday. But it’s like that passion was passed down in his genes, which has been so special since moving back home to Houston and living just five minutes from NASA. In fact, we were just talking the other day about the wonderful irony of us ending up buying our first home back in Clear Lake, after living in NYC, LA and traveling all around the world. Funny how life comes full circle sometimes.

My Week in Style: Three’s a Charm

“Three’s a charm,” “Good things come in threes,” and “The Holy Trinity” all symbolize something I am starting to put a lot of stock in. The number three may just be my lucky number. I mean, if last “leap year” alone isn’t proof, I don’t know what is. Grant started a new job, we closed on our first house, and found out we were expecting our second child – all literally within three weeks of each other. Then, in the just the past three months, my blog baby went from my little fledgling project to being inundated with brand collab opportunities that has me in a position I never thought would come. A place where I can finally turn something I’ve been so utterly passionate about into a real business where I’m in control of my own success or failure.

My Week in Style: SHEIN x Coachella

So I admittedly have always had a hankering to make it to Coachella, and yet in the 7 years we lived in LA I never made the trek. To add even more salt to my wound, this year my awesome Fashion Mamas tribe is hosting their first “Mama Mirage” Coachella event, sponsored by Havaianas (cue sad face). Because I never like to wallow in my own sorrow, I figured what better way than to pay it forward to all my lovely followers. I’ve partnered with SheIn to send 2 lucky persons to Coachella – including airfare and hotel! The winners will also receive makeovers by some of hottest influencers for the entire weekend – seriously how cool is that??

Adventures in Shopping: Old Town Tomball

Let’s just set the record straight. I’m a sucker for anything old. Vintage cameos, antique decor, old towns – you name it, I covet it. It started with weekends spent strolling the quaint streets of Old Town Spring with my parents growing up, where the shops and restaurants make you feel like you’re living in an old west town rather than in the middle of the booming city of Houston. We’d spend hours at our favorite lunch spot, the British Trading Post & Tea Room, where my father bonded with a fellow Brit, Maureen, who ran the place with her daughters and quickly became like family. After moving away, I would plea for Grant to take me back any time we visited home, just to get a glimpse of my childhood memories.

Top 5 Pins of the Week: Bombs Away

This past week I found myself turning to Pinterest more often than usual grasping for a little style inspiration. You might recall from our recent moving debacle, that somewhere in West LA a woman (or man for that matter) is walking around wearing half my wardrobe. Hence, I’m having to come up with more creative ways to make what clothes I have left work overtime. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Pinterest is your friend. I personally find it to be the best place to get a quick dose of fashion inspo, and the best part is that I can do it at night after I put the little guy down and have all my new outfit ideas ready to reference the next morning. Bazinga.

Mural Support: Adam Lippes x Target

On Sunday, I coerced the hubs into a City Target run so that I could check out the new Adam Lippes for Target collection. Naturally I’d done my research and already had my eye out for a few key pieces. I halfway expected the store to be ransacked (see Lilly Pulitzer debacle), but apparently plaid doesn’t give off the same drug-induced psychosis as floral-prints-on-crack do. Lucky for me, there was still a healthy selection and I managed to snag the last size mediums in the two garments I wanted most. Lucky for you, there’s also quite a bit still available online – unless of course you’re feeling up to a dumpster dive (as my loving husband so calls it). See my favorite look styled below for some shopping inspo – understanding husband and two year old not included…
