Well, it’s official. Our little Cha Cha turned one and is definitely not a baby anymore. She’s a walking, talking (although these days it’s more screaming), full fledged toddler. I always wished I’d had more of the baby months with my first – Garrett weaned and walked at 10 months old and mama was not ready for either. So hey, at least I got a couple more months with Charlotte, who just started really walking in the past week – on her first birthday, believe it or not. I keep joking what a strong-willed child she is, and she was gonna make darn sure she’d be walking by her first bday. Well played, Cha Cha, well played.

Mom Jean Confessions: The Final Countdown

Well, I made it to week 37 and it’s as if ’80s one-hit-wonder Europe’s “It’s the final countdown, do-do do do, do-do do do do” is the theme song to my life right now. Not really, but wouldn’t that be cool – or am I just showing my age? Anyway, I thought it might be time to do a little bump update since I have so many sweet friends and family members checking in with me daily, anxiously awaiting any signs of baby girl’s arrival. I also wanted to show off this flirty little non-maternity dress, or “maternity-friendly” as fellow Fashion Mama and owner of Audrey & Olive likes to say of her uber-cute line (you may remember her chic kaftan/kimono I donned at my sprinkle a few weeks back). Plus, mama’s not so much feeling photog moments these days, so these were taken a few weeks back by the hubs – which explains the last two photos where he’s comparing me to Napoleon Dynamite and then I proceed to walk off set, bahaha 🙂

My Week in Style: Fall in Line

Waiting for fall to come in Texas is like waiting for cherry blossom season, and then it’s gone before you know it. I’ve never let it cramp my style though. Granted, I definitely miss my LA “seasons,” which essentially allowed me to dress like it was fall year round (le sigh). But alas, I vow to prepare for fall like a medieval knight going into battle. The easiest way, if you live in a warmer climate like we do now, is to start transitioning your wardrobe with a few key accessories.
